Node order: Engine → Color Editor → FX → optional LUT or grain node

1. Engine — the grade

Converts, corrects, and builds the base look.

• Input: S-Log3, C-Log, D-Log M, Rec709, DaVinci Intermediate → Output: Rec709 2.4, Cineon Film Log, S-Log3, DaVinci Wide Gamut
• Built-in CST matching Resolve’s own
• Balance, Contrast/Tone, Saturation, Split Tone, Skin Protect, Halation, Glow, Vignette, Chromatic Aberration, Highlight Rolloff

2. Color Editor — the refine

• 8 color bands (Red through Magenta) with Hue/Saturation/Brightness, smooth blending, protected grays
• Vibrance (skin-safe), Film Density for richer saturation
• Zero-impact at 0, lightweight, real time

3. FX — the finish

Effects off by default, resolution-independent sizing.

• Noise Reduction (Edge-Aware or Kuwahara), Sharpen, Clarity, Edge Processor, Scatter, Mist & Aura Diffusion, Lens Edge Blur, Stylize (Halftone/CMYK/Stippler/Hatching), Letterbox (2.39/2.00/1.85/4:3)
• Note: Kuwahara and large Mist sizes may not play back real-time in 4K, but render fine

5 Signature LUTs included

Apply after Engine; match Engine’s Step 1B output to the LUT.

Good to know: Keep your own nodes for grain or a standard Rec709 CST — fewer nodes, not zero. No built-in grain; use Resolve’s Film Grain separately.

Install

1. Project Settings → Color Management → Open LUT Folder → copy files in, restart Resolve
2. Color page: add DCTL effect, choose a LUTURY plugin
3. Set Engine Step 1A (input) and 1B (output)
4. Grade from Step 2 down, refine with Color Editor, finish with FX

Requires DaVinci Resolve Studio (paid). Won’t run in free Resolve.
